Kevin first taught his signature course--Politicizing Beyoncé--in Fall 2010 with the goals of deeply analyzing Beyoncé's music while also exclusively citing and assigning Black women's work, and to take pop culture seriously alongside a longer Black feminist history. The curriculum continues to be revised and updated with each new move Beyoncé makes. Notably, the curriculum has been recognized by Parkwood Entertainment and was featured on Beyoncé's official website from 2012-2013.
